UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DEL MOLISE (University of Molise, Italy)

The University of Molise was founded in 1982 and, at present, it has 10,000 students in eight faculties (Economics, Agriculture, Law, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Surgery) and a specialist training centre for pre-service and in-service secondary teachers, which covers a wide range of the curriculum. The educational provision, which conforms to the principles set out in the Bologna Declaration, includes 25 first level degree courses, 11 specialist degrees and 4 master’s courses.

The University is equipped with several laboratories, multimedia labs, two linguistic centres, a central library, and a convention centre. The Modern Foreign Languages departments: CLA (Centro Linguistico  di Ateneo) and CSI (Centro Servizi Informatici) are both active in language teaching through the use of ICT and in-service language teacher training and tutoring.

CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) has always been encouraged by language teachers and used by trainers. Seminars and symposiums are held yearly involving a wide range of partner universities and schools. Experience and skills have been demonstrated by European project coordination and management accomplishing encouraging results.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

The University of Molise, the applicant organization, will be responsible for coordination and project management throughout the contractual period. This ensures that the activities envisaged will be undertaken in a timely and proficient manner through the use of tools to facilitate efficiency and continuous communication. Both a Scientific Committee with partners’ representatives and the Financial Department of the University of Molise will guarantee the development of different aspects (content and financial and administrative matters) of the project. The Applicant organization will manage the contract, the reports and the necessary contacts with the European Commission and its Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency; the subcontracts with the partners and, as the project progresses, the appropriate monitoring of the project outcomes. The applicant organization will chair the transnational meetings, will be in constant contact with both the internal and external evaluators and will be responsible for the editing and organization of the final products.
